The Pot Calling the Kettle
The Pot Calling The Kettle.
Procrastination: is a behavior which is characterized by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite procrastination as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision. [1] Psychology researchers also have three criteria they used to categorize procrastination. For a behavior to be classified as procrastination, it must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying.[2]
Yeah, that sounds so much like myself, the master procrastinator. I started this out pointing at myself first because, well; I am a firm believer in you must lead by example. So here I am speaking about myself first.
So, here is a list of things I can’t see myself living without. Writing, reading, singing, and performing the better parts of my poetry. Now I ask myself when was the last time I have done any of that. HMM….. Lets see I published a not so good poetry book in September, I performed one of my poems in November. Since then, nothing else.
Even worse, I have four of them four novels started and have managed to not work on one of them in some time.
Daily I tell people to do what feels good, capture your dreams, Live your life but me I have been pursuing absolutely nothing. I am what I stated above, a procrastinator.
I can’t tell you why I have been procrastinating or not acting on my dreams, but I can tell you I have been The Pot Calling The Kettle Black. Yes I am admitting it while I am sending you inspirational thoughts thru text and or sending you an email about the best way to Just Do it, I have been a failure at taking my own advice.
I am tired of this behavior!!! So as I wrap this up so I can work on something that means something, I will still send inspirational thoughts through text and or emails but for now only when I am taking a short break from what I love. As for you other procrastinators, all I can say is keep doing what you do. I will see you in the same place 20 years from now wondering what happened. That is all I have. Feel free to send me yourΒ Thoughts on this.
Until I write again,
